1. Purpose

ShootingSet.com is a marketplace connecting filmmakers, production houses, vendors, sellers, buyers, renters, service providers, collectors and other participants in the film and entertainment industry.

This Return Policy explains when and how a physical product purchased through ShootingSet.com may be returned.

Returns may apply to products such as:

  1. Props
  2. Costumes
  3. Production materials
  4. Film equipment
  5. Furniture and set items
  6. Vehicles and accessories, where applicable
  7. Collectibles and memorabilia
  8. Production-related merchandise
  9. Other physical goods offered for sale

Because products on ShootingSet.com may be supplied by independent Vendors, return eligibility can vary according to the nature of the product, the Vendor’s disclosed return terms, the transaction terms, and applicable law.

2. Return Policy and Refund Policy Are Different

A return concerns the physical product being sent back to the Vendor or other designated return location.

A refund concerns the money being returned to the Buyer after a return, cancellation, defective-product claim, failed delivery, or another qualifying event.

Approval of a return does not necessarily mean that a refund will be issued immediately.

Refunds are processed in accordance with the applicable ShootingSet Refund & Cancellation Policy, transaction terms, Vendor terms and applicable law.

3. Scope of This Policy

This Return Policy applies primarily to completed sales of physical products through ShootingSet.com.

It does not automatically apply to:

  1. Rental transactions
  2. Location bookings
  3. Talent or crew services
  4. Production services
  5. Custom services
  6. Digital products
  7. Tickets or event-related services
  8. Auction transactions where separate auction terms apply
  9. Products specifically marked as non-returnable
  10. Transactions governed by a separate written agreement

Where another transaction-specific policy or agreement applies, that document will govern to the extent permitted by law.

4. Check the Product Return Terms Before Purchase

Before completing a purchase, Buyers should carefully review the product page and checkout information.

The listing may specify:

  1. Whether the product is returnable
  2. The permitted return period
  3. Accepted reasons for return
  4. Return shipping responsibility
  5. Restocking or handling charges, where legally permissible
  6. Condition requirements
  7. Exclusions
  8. Warranty information
  9. Vendor-specific return conditions

The return terms displayed for the particular transaction may therefore differ from the general provisions of this Policy.

5. General Return Eligibility

Subject to the applicable transaction terms and law, a Buyer may request a return where the purchased product:

  1. Is defective or materially damaged on arrival;
  2. Is materially different from the description;
  3. Is materially different from the product represented in the listing;
  4. Is incomplete or missing essential components;
  5. Is the wrong product;
  6. Is counterfeit or otherwise unlawfully represented;
  7. Was damaged during delivery where the applicable delivery arrangement makes the relevant party responsible; or
  8. Qualifies for return under the Vendor’s stated return policy.

ShootingSet may request reasonable evidence before approving a return.

6. Products That May Not Be Returnable

Certain products may be excluded from returns because of their nature or transaction structure.

Examples may include:

  1. Custom-made props or costumes
  2. Made-to-order products
  3. Personalized products
  4. Products altered at the Buyer’s request
  5. Used or vintage film artifacts where expressly sold on an as-is basis
  6. Collectibles where the listing clearly states that returns are not accepted
  7. Products damaged after delivery due to Buyer handling
  8. Products modified, repaired or altered by the Buyer or a third party
  9. Perishable or consumable production materials, where applicable
  10. Products sold through certain auction formats
  11. Products specifically marked “Final Sale” or “Non-Returnable”

Such exclusions are subject to applicable consumer and other mandatory legal rights.

7. Return Period

Unless a different period is clearly stated on the product listing or checkout page, a return request should generally be submitted within 7 calendar days of delivery for eligible products.

For defective, damaged, counterfeit, materially misrepresented or materially incorrect products, Buyers should report the issue as soon as reasonably possible after discovering it.

A shorter or longer period may apply where the product listing, Vendor terms, warranty, applicable law or transaction-specific agreement provides otherwise.

8. Damaged Products

If a product arrives damaged, the Buyer should:

  1. Photograph the outer packaging;
  2. Photograph the shipping label;
  3. Photograph the product and damage;
  4. Preserve the packaging where reasonably possible;
  5. Avoid using, repairing or modifying the product;
  6. Report the issue through the prescribed ShootingSet support channel; and
  7. Provide any additional information reasonably requested.

Where possible, damage should be reported promptly after delivery.

9. Wrong Product or Missing Items

If the Buyer receives a product different from the product ordered, or essential components are missing, the Buyer should contact ShootingSet as soon as reasonably possible.

The Buyer may be asked to provide:

  1. Order information;
  2. Photographs or video;
  3. Product identification;
  4. Packaging details; and
  5. Details of the missing or incorrect items.

Subject to verification, the available resolution may include:

  1. Replacement;
  2. Return and refund;
  3. Partial refund;
  4. Delivery of missing components; or
  5. Another appropriate remedy.

10. Product Not as Described

A return may be considered where the product materially differs from the information provided in the listing.

Examples may include:

  1. Materially different product;
  2. Materially different model or specification;
  3. Materially different quantity;
  4. Materially different condition where condition was expressly represented;
  5. Missing major components; or
  6. Materially inaccurate product representation.

Minor variations that are inherent in used, vintage, handmade, antique, one-of-a-kind or naturally variable products may not necessarily qualify as a return reason where the listing adequately disclosed those characteristics.

11. Change of Mind

A Buyer does not automatically have a right to return every product merely because the Buyer has changed their mind.

Whether a change-of-mind return is available depends on:

  1. The product listing;
  2. Vendor return terms;
  3. Transaction type;
  4. Applicable law; and
  5. Any specific return commitment displayed at checkout.

Where a Vendor voluntarily offers change-of-mind returns, the applicable conditions will be displayed or communicated to the Buyer.

12. Condition of Returned Product

Unless the return concerns a defective, damaged, incorrect or materially misrepresented product, the product should generally be returned:

  1. In substantially the same condition in which it was received;
  2. With accessories and components;
  3. With original packaging where reasonably available;
  4. With manuals, certificates or documentation supplied with the product; and
  5. Without unauthorized alterations or modifications.

The Vendor or ShootingSet may inspect the returned product.

13. Evidence and Inspection

ShootingSet or the Vendor may request reasonable evidence to determine whether a return is valid.

Evidence may include:

  1. Photographs;
  2. Video;
  3. Unboxing evidence;
  4. Delivery records;
  5. Serial numbers;
  6. Product identification;
  7. Condition reports;
  8. Shipping information;
  9. Invoices;
  10. Communications; or
  11. Other transaction records.

For higher-value or disputed items, additional inspection or independent verification may be required.

14. Return Authorization

A Buyer should not send a product to an address obtained informally or from an unrelated source.

Where a return is approved, ShootingSet or the Vendor may provide:

  1. Return authorization;
  2. Return address;
  3. Shipping instructions;
  4. Packaging instructions;
  5. Return reference number; and
  6. Any other applicable instructions.

A return sent to an unauthorized location may delay processing.

15. Return Shipping

Responsibility for return shipping may depend on the reason for the return.

Where the product is defective, materially incorrect or materially misrepresented

Subject to verification and applicable law, the Vendor or responsible party may be required to bear reasonable return shipping costs.

Where the Buyer requests a voluntary return

The Buyer may be responsible for return shipping and other disclosed costs where permitted by the applicable transaction terms.

Where responsibility is disputed

ShootingSet may review the circumstances and determine the appropriate process based on the available evidence and applicable law.

16. Safe Packaging

The Buyer is responsible for reasonably safe packaging when returning a product.

Where the product is fragile, valuable, collectible or technically sensitive, the Buyer should use appropriate protective packaging.

Additional instructions may be provided for:

  1. Film equipment;
  2. Glass or fragile props;
  3. Antique or collectible items;
  4. Large production assets;
  5. Costumes;
  6. Special-effect props; and
  7. High-value merchandise.

17. Return Tracking

Where return shipping is required, the Buyer may be required to use a trackable shipping method.

The Buyer should retain:

  1. Shipping receipt;
  2. Tracking number;
  3. Courier details;
  4. Proof of delivery; and
  5. Photographs of the packaged return where appropriate.

ShootingSet may not be responsible for a return that is lost because the Buyer did not follow the prescribed return procedure.

18. Return Inspection

After the returned product is received, the Vendor or ShootingSet may inspect it.

The inspection may consider:

  1. Whether the returned product matches the original product;
  2. Product condition;
  3. Missing components;
  4. Signs of use;
  5. Damage;
  6. Unauthorized modification;
  7. Serial numbers or identifying marks;
  8. Packaging condition; and
  9. Whether the reported return reason is supported by the evidence.

Inspection does not limit any rights or remedies available under applicable law.

19. Refund After an Approved Return

Where a return qualifies for a refund, the refund will generally be processed after the return is received and verified, unless the applicable law or transaction terms require otherwise.

Refunds will generally be made to the original payment method used for the transaction.

The time taken for the funds to appear in the Buyer’s account may depend on the payment service provider, bank, card network or other financial institution.

20. Payment Providers

ShootingSet.com currently uses third-party payment service providers, including Razorpay and PayPal, subject to transaction type, geographic availability, eligibility and applicable laws.

A refund approved by ShootingSet does not mean that ShootingSet directly controls the time required for the payment provider or bank to credit the funds.

Payment-provider processing, reversal, settlement and refund procedures may therefore affect the final timing.

21. Partial Refunds

In appropriate circumstances, a partial refund may be offered instead of a complete return.

Examples may include:

  1. Minor defects;
  2. Missing non-essential components;
  3. Partial quantity issues;
  4. Minor discrepancies;
  5. Buyer acceptance of a reduced-value product; or
  6. Other circumstances agreed between the relevant parties.

A partial refund will not be treated as a full return unless expressly agreed.

22. Replacement Instead of Return

Where appropriate and subject to availability, a defective, incorrect or materially non-conforming product may be replaced.

Replacement may be offered where:

  1. The same product is available;
  2. The Vendor agrees to replace it;
  3. The product can reasonably be transported; or
  4. Replacement provides an appropriate resolution.

If replacement is unavailable, another remedy may be considered.

23. No Replacement Guarantee

ShootingSet does not guarantee that an identical replacement will always be available.

Products listed on ShootingSet may include:

  1. One-of-a-kind props;
  2. Vintage items;
  3. Rare collectibles;
  4. Custom-made assets;
  5. Limited-production items; and
  6. Unique film memorabilia.

Where replacement is impossible, the applicable refund or other remedy will be considered.

24. Used, Vintage and Collectible Products

Used, vintage, antique and collectible products may naturally show:

  1. Wear;
  2. Scratches;
  3. Aging;
  4. Repairs;
  5. Colour variation;
  6. Manufacturing differences;
  7. Restoration marks; or
  8. Other signs of previous use.

Such characteristics may not constitute a defect if they were reasonably disclosed in the listing.

Buyers should carefully review photographs, descriptions and condition information before purchasing.

25. Props and Film Assets

Props and production assets may have been:

  1. Used during filming;
  2. Modified for production;
  3. Painted or distressed;
  4. Repaired;
  5. Fabricated specifically for a production;
  6. Exposed to normal production wear; or
  7. Constructed as one-off items.

The listing should be reviewed carefully before purchase.

A product that was intentionally created or distressed to achieve a particular cinematic appearance will not necessarily be considered defective merely because it shows such characteristics.

26. Costumes

Costumes may be subject to special return conditions because of:

  1. Hygiene;
  2. Custom sizing;
  3. Alterations;
  4. Tailoring;
  5. Embellishments;
  6. Production modifications; or
  7. Made-to-order specifications.

Customized or altered costumes may be non-returnable unless otherwise stated or required by law.

27. Equipment

Production equipment may be subject to additional verification before a return is accepted.

This may include:

  1. Serial-number verification;
  2. Functional testing;
  3. Accessory verification;
  4. Condition inspection; and
  5. Assessment of physical or technical damage.

A Buyer should not attempt unauthorized repairs before contacting ShootingSet or the Vendor.

28. High-Value Products

For high-value products, ShootingSet or the Vendor may require additional verification before approving a return or refund.

This may include:

  1. Identity verification;
  2. Proof of delivery;
  3. Serial-number verification;
  4. Photographic evidence;
  5. Inspection;
  6. Courier documentation; or
  7. Other reasonable verification.

These measures are intended to reduce fraud and protect both Buyers and Vendors.

29. Counterfeit or Suspected Unauthorized Products

If a Buyer reasonably believes that a product is counterfeit or was unlawfully represented, the Buyer should promptly notify ShootingSet.

ShootingSet may request supporting evidence and may investigate the listing or transaction.

Where appropriate, ShootingSet may:

  1. Restrict the listing;
  2. Suspend the transaction;
  3. Request information from the Vendor;
  4. Hold or restrict settlement where contractually and legally permitted;
  5. Remove the listing;
  6. Cooperate with rights holders or authorities; or
  7. Take other measures available under applicable law.

30. Return Fraud

ShootingSet may take appropriate action where it reasonably suspects:

  1. False return claims;
  2. Product substitution;
  3. Return of a different item;
  4. Intentional damage;
  5. Repeated abusive returns;
  6. False delivery claims;
  7. Manipulation of photographs or evidence; or
  8. Other return-related fraud.

Such action may include denial of a return, account restrictions, withholding or adjustment of amounts where contractually and legally permitted, recovery of losses, or legal action.

31. Product Substitution

A Buyer must return the same product that was supplied.

Where products have serial numbers, identification marks, labels or other unique identifiers, those identifiers may be checked.

Returning a different item may result in rejection of the return and may lead to further action.

32. Products Damaged After Delivery

A product that becomes damaged after delivery due to the Buyer’s handling, misuse, negligence, unauthorized modification or other Buyer-related circumstances may not qualify for a defect-based return.

The Buyer may remain responsible for applicable damage or loss under the transaction terms and applicable law.

33. Missing Components

Where only a component is missing, ShootingSet or the Vendor may, where practical, provide:

  1. The missing component;
  2. A replacement component;
  3. A partial refund; or
  4. A complete return/refund.

The appropriate resolution may depend on the importance and availability of the missing component.

34. Delivery Damage

Where damage appears to have occurred during transportation, the Buyer should report it promptly and preserve the packaging and delivery evidence.

Responsibility may depend on:

  1. The delivery arrangement;
  2. The logistics provider;
  3. Vendor obligations;
  4. The point at which risk transferred;
  5. Insurance arrangements; and
  6. Applicable law.

35. Return of Large or Heavy Items

Large, heavy or unusually shaped production assets may require special return arrangements.

These may include:

  1. Dedicated transportation;
  2. Pickup by the Vendor;
  3. Freight services;
  4. Special packaging;
  5. Loading/unloading arrangements; or
  6. Inspection before transportation.

Additional charges or procedures may apply where disclosed or agreed.

36. International Returns

International returns may involve:

  1. Customs requirements;
  2. Import/export restrictions;
  3. Duties and taxes;
  4. Shipping costs;
  5. Currency conversion;
  6. Documentation;
  7. Carrier restrictions; and
  8. Regulatory requirements.

The Buyer and Vendor may be required to cooperate with reasonable customs and logistics procedures.

ShootingSet does not guarantee that every international product can be returned across borders.

37. Customs and Regulatory Restrictions

Certain film props, equipment, materials, antiques, biological materials, wildlife-related products, controlled items or other regulated goods may be subject to legal restrictions.

A return may therefore require additional documentation or may not be legally possible.

No provision of this Policy requires ShootingSet or a User to violate applicable law.

38. Auction Purchases

Products purchased through ShootingSet auctions may be governed by separate Auction Terms.

Because auction transactions may involve unique, collectible or one-of-a-kind assets, auction purchases may be subject to different return rules.

Unless the applicable auction terms expressly provide otherwise, Buyers should not assume that an auction purchase can be returned merely because the Buyer has changed their mind.

Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.

39. Sale of Movie Memorabilia

Movie memorabilia may have unique provenance, history or authenticity considerations.

A Buyer should review the information supplied with the listing before purchasing.

Unless expressly guaranteed by ShootingSet, ShootingSet does not automatically certify:

  1. Authenticity;
  2. Screen use;
  3. Actor association;
  4. Production provenance;
  5. Signature authenticity; or
  6. Historical significance.

Where a Vendor makes such representations, responsibility for their accuracy remains primarily with the Vendor, subject to applicable law.

40. Vendor Responsibility

Vendors are responsible for:

  1. Accurate product descriptions;
  2. Accurate photographs;
  3. Condition disclosures;
  4. Product specifications;
  5. Availability;
  6. Packaging;
  7. Fulfilment;
  8. Applicable warranties;
  9. Lawful ownership or authority to sell;
  10. Compliance with applicable laws; and
  11. Their stated return terms.

ShootingSet may facilitate communication and marketplace processes but does not automatically become the manufacturer, seller, owner or warrantor of third-party products.

41. ShootingSet’s Role

ShootingSet operates as a marketplace and technology platform.

Unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular transaction, ShootingSet does not take ownership of products merely because they are listed on the platform.

ShootingSet may assist with return requests, evidence collection, communication, payment-related processes and dispute handling according to its platform policies.

This does not prevent ShootingSet from taking appropriate action where required by law or under its agreements.

42. Return Disputes

If a Buyer and Vendor disagree regarding a return, ShootingSet may review:

  1. Listing information;
  2. Transaction records;
  3. Communications;
  4. Photographs;
  5. Delivery information;
  6. Return tracking;
  7. Inspection results; and
  8. Other relevant evidence.

ShootingSet may facilitate a resolution but does not guarantee a particular outcome.

Nothing in this section limits statutory rights or legal remedies.

43. Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any consumer right, statutory protection or other mandatory legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Where applicable law provides a Buyer with rights greater than those described in this Policy, the applicable law will prevail.

44. No Waiver of Legal Remedies

Nothing in this Policy prevents a Buyer, Vendor or other person from exercising a legal right or remedy available under applicable law.

Any contractual limitation applies only to the maximum extent permitted by law.

45. Relationship With Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Return Policy should be read together with the ShootingSet Refund & Cancellation Policy.

In general:

A Buyer should contact ShootingSet through the applicable support channel or return facility provided on the website/app.

The request should generally include:

  1. Order number;
  2. Product name;
  3. Delivery date;
  4. Reason for return;
  5. Photographs or video where relevant;
  6. Description of the issue; and
  7. Any supporting documentation.

47. Return Review Process

After receiving a return request, ShootingSet or the relevant Vendor may:

  1. Confirm the transaction;
  2. Review the applicable return terms;
  3. Request additional evidence;
  4. Contact the Vendor or Buyer;
  5. Approve or decline the return;
  6. Provide return instructions where approved;
  7. Inspect the returned product;
  8. Determine the applicable resolution; and
  9. Initiate any eligible refund through the applicable payment process.

Processing times may vary depending on the complexity of the matter.

48. Return Approval Does Not Guarantee Immediate Refund

Return approval and refund processing are separate stages.

A refund may be processed only after:

  1. The returned product is received;
  2. The product is verified where necessary;
  3. Required evidence is reviewed;
  4. Applicable deductions are determined; and
  5. The refund is authorized.

Where applicable law requires an earlier refund, the legally required timeline will apply.

49. Refund Method

Approved refunds will generally be returned through the original payment method.

Depending on the transaction, payment provider and applicable law, alternative refund arrangements may occasionally be used.

The Buyer may be required to provide additional information for such arrangements.

50. Taxes and Refunds

The treatment of taxes, duties, shipping charges, platform fees and other transaction components upon return may vary according to:

  1. Applicable law;
  2. Nature of the transaction;
  3. Reason for return;
  4. Vendor terms;
  5. Payment-provider procedures; and
  6. Whether the relevant amount is legally refundable.

Where a tax component is refundable, the applicable refund will be handled in accordance with applicable tax requirements.

51. Platform Fees

ShootingSet may charge a nominal platform fee or other disclosed transaction-related fee.

Whether such a fee is refundable will depend on:

  1. The transaction terms;
  2. The reason for the return;
  3. The nature of the fee;
  4. Applicable law; and
  5. The applicable Refund & Cancellation Policy.

No fee will be described as non-refundable where applicable law requires it to be refunded.

52. Promotional Offers and Credits

Where a purchase was made using:

  1. Coupons;
  2. Promotional discounts;
  3. Credits;
  4. Vouchers;
  5. Promotional codes; or
  6. Other incentives,

the return and refund treatment may be subject to the applicable promotional terms.

Unless otherwise required by law, promotional benefits may not necessarily be converted into cash.

53. No Cash Refund Where Prohibited

ShootingSet will use legally permissible refund methods.

Cash refunds may not be available for transactions completed through electronic payment systems.

54. Refund Delays

After ShootingSet initiates an approved refund, delays may occur due to:

  1. Payment providers;
  2. Banks;
  3. Card networks;
  4. Currency conversion;
  5. Weekends or holidays;
  6. International banking systems;
  7. Fraud or compliance reviews; or
  8. Other financial-system processing requirements.

ShootingSet will not knowingly delay an eligible refund beyond applicable legal requirements.

55. Changes to This Return Policy

ShootingSet may update this Return Policy from time to time to reflect:

  1. Changes in law;
  2. Changes in payment systems;
  3. Changes in marketplace operations;
  4. New product categories;
  5. New return processes; or
  6. Business or technology developments.

The updated version will be published on the platform with a revised Last Updated date.

The version applicable to a transaction will generally be determined by the terms applicable when the transaction was completed, subject to later changes required by law.
